Art has long been a powerful medium for social change, and in Trenton, NJ, it’s taking center stage in a bold new initiative. Renowned mural artist Leon Rainbow is spearheading the creation of an Peace Mural at the entrance to Faircrest Park, located at 509 Monmouth Street. This transformative project, in collaboration with Isles and the Faircrest Park community, is designed to revitalize the neighborhood while promoting a message of peace. This mural features Community activists and advocates Helen and James McCall.

A Vision for Change

Stretching across a substantial wall measuring approximately 70 feet wide and 25-35 feet tall, this vibrant and colorful mural will not only beautify the area but also serve as a beacon of hope and unity. Its design will reflect the community’s resilience and aspirations for a safer, more harmonious future. Leon Rainbow’s signature artistry, combined with input from local residents, ensures the mural will resonate deeply with its audience.

Capital Health & Isles Celebrate Unveiling of 6th Increase the Peace Mural

On Friday, November 1st, members of the Trenton community gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the city’s 6th Increase the Peace mural. This project, which is spearheaded by Capital Health and Isles, is a public arts initiative designed to promote peace in neighborhoods throughout the community. To help celebrate the occasion, organizers were joined by a number of special guests, including Mayor Reed Gusciora, Council President Feliciano, Councilwoman Frisby, County Commissioner Samuel Frisby, and Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson. Also in attendance were several members of the McCall family, who helped to celebrate this moving and monumental afternoon.
